Beyond words

How is it possible that someone who is supposed to have a mentoring relationship with someone can spend an entire hour talking about themselves and never once ask "How are you doing?"

    absolutely not what should have happened -- and amazingly easy to do, even when one knows better and has known better for a long, long time.

    I just used that exact description to a friend to define a toxic friendship (one that is always that way).

    A mentor who EVER does that? I would think would fall into the same category: toxic.

    I hate that.
